Protection tubes safeguard thermocouples from contaminating atmospheres or mechanical damage. They are closed at one end of the tube and the thermocouple and connection head are assembled and mounted into the process. The material chosen for the protection tube is determined by the type of application that the the thermocouple will be exposed to. Watlow offers a variety of ceramic and metal (pipe type) protection tubes designed to insulate and protect temperature sensors from high pressure, abrasive, corrosive and other harsh environments.
